Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

How thoughts, feelings, body and actions affect each other, and practical ways to change patterns that keep you stuck.

What is it?
Cognitive behavioural therapy starts from the idea that what we think, feel, notice in our bodies and do all affect each other. When a difficult pattern has settled in, changing one part can loosen the rest.
How we work
We look at concrete situations together, and the thoughts and reactions that come with them. Between sessions you might try small exercises or experiments, so what we work on becomes part of everyday life.
When it can help
CBT is well researched and widely used for anxiety, panic, worry, depression, OCD and many other difficulties.
